It's spring,
it's spring!
We have not accomplished
all that we hoped, but we have achieved at least a few more
of
our goals.
Ebook Sales are DOWN FOR THE FIRST
QUARTER OF 2004
Our first quarter
this year was the worst season we have experienced since
we bought the site in 2000. Things sure have to get better,
because the only way from here is UP.
We published FIVE more print
books:
- Terry L. White's ANCIENT MEMORIES,
- Dorothy Bible Kawaguchi's HER NAME WAS MARY,
- Nancy Madison's NEVER LOVE A STRANGER,
- Vincent W. MacDonald's
Shorelines
- and
REUNIONS ARE MURDER, by Ersla McNabb.
Good News all our print books
will be distributed by Baker & Taylor
- All ebooksonthe.net print editions will be listed with Baker & Taylor within the
next three months. Baker & Taylor is the largest distributor of
books to Libraries in the U.S. It's a foot-in-the door with a major
distributor.
This is very good news for anyone with books at ebooks on the.net or with Booksurge. Here's the
skinny.
- When will the
books be listed?
We are currently
integrating books into the Baker and Taylor system and expect the books
to be available in the Baker and Taylor system in the next 60-90 days.
- Will I be
required to maintain inventory with Baker and Taylor?
No, all orders
will be sent to Booksurge, and we will send books to Baker and Taylor
as they are ordered.
- What discount
will B&T customers receive?
Currently the
standard B&T discount on all titles distributed through Booksurge
will be 25% and the
publisher royalty will be 30%. In the future we will allow publishers
to split 55% of the book cover price between themselves and B&T.
This will allow publishers to set larger discounts but earn a smaller
royalty. As with any Booksurge channel sale we will pay the printing
and handling costs on all orders.
- Will B&T
books be returnable?
No, all books
are listed with B&T as non-returnable and publishers will be paid
for all sales made through B&T in their monthly royalty check. This
will appear as a separate line item.
- Is there a cost
to have my books listed with Baker and Taylor?
No, this is a
free service meant to enhance channel sales for all books placed in the
Booksurge system.
